KCPC (Korean Community Presbyterian Church of Atlanta)
The Catalyst for KCPC(Korean Community Presbyterian Church in Atlanta)'s Involvement in Guatemala Missions.
After reviewing the mission team's report, the church's session chose Guatemala as a partner mission field. In August 2015, a mission team of nine members was sent to work alongside the Kim-Lee missionary couple to complete their first joint mission project. Since then, the church has continued to send annual mission teams to assist the Kim-Lee couple in their ministry among the Maya people in Guatemala, sustaining their cooperative mission efforts.
In 2014, the Kingdom Inter-Missions Network (KIMNET) Mission Conference, hosted by KCPC, featured missionary Hyun-Young Kim as a speaker. After hearing his report on the mission work in Guatemala, the church's session decided in 2015 to establish a mission vision team for Guatemala. This team, consisting of Pastor Sung-Hee Yoo, Elder Hak Keun Chang, and Deacon Chan-Il Park, visited Guatemala to explore the potential for cooperative mission work with the missionaries Hyun-Young Kim and Deok-Joo Lee.
