Why It Matters

Most Mayan villagers lack access to hospital-based healthcare. One nurse may serve up to seven villages, managing everything from child vaccinations to general care. GMNET, in partnership with HOMA (Health One Medical Association) and local institutions, is working to change that.

Regular Medical Visits

Our U.S. and Guatemalan medical teams partner to provide year-round care, including medicine, diagnosis, and chronic disease management. Local doctors also visit remote villages bi-monthly.

EMR & Telemedicine

We’ve implemented an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to track patient health, vaccinations, and medications. Through medicloud.me, we also offer telemedicine consultations from the U.S.

Dental Clinic

Our dedicated dental mission team provides comprehensive oral care to children, adults, and the elderly in Mayan villages through regular missionary visits. Services include oral and periodontal exams, cleanings, and basic dental treatments—all delivered with compassion and professionalism.

Oral Health Education

To promote long-term oral wellness, we lead oral health education sessions for villagers of all ages. These sessions emphasize the importance of preventive care, proper brushing techniques, and regular dental check-ups. We aim to foster lifelong dental hygiene habits that lead to better overall health in the community.

- CPR Training (Education) -

CPR & Life-Saving Training

Certified BLS instructors train medical staff and students at Coban Hospital and CUNOR School of Medicine. We've equipped them with dummies and defibrillators to establish Coban’s first CPR Training Center.

New Health Clinic Construction (2024–2025)

We’re funding a new public health clinic in Nuevo Aquil village to replace the outdated facility.

Opening August 2025, the new clinic will feature:

 • 3 examination rooms (Adult, Child, Dental)

 • Pharmacy section

 • Waiting area

 • Medical staff on-call room

Maternal & Child Health Focus

We prioritize vaccination records and schedules through our EMR system to ensure healthy futures for village children.

Commitment to Community Health

We aim to transform rural healthcare through collaborative infrastructure, education, and compassion, ensuring Mayan communities receive the care they deserve.
